Blobimal Artist Books

Self-Study Class Includes Lifetime Access, Online Community & More!

6 Lessons – $49

Discover what a blobimal is! In this oldy-but-goody, six-lesson class Carla Sonheim will take you blob hunting. You’ll create four small artist books using a combination of techniques and materials–watercolor, pencil, collage and more. This was part of our Summer Camp Class from 2013 and we hope you love it!

Now available as a self-study class.

TEACHER: Carla Sonheim

Class Description

In this class we will construct four small artist books, with “found” animals as our main subject matter.

The irregularly shaped pages of each of the books will be constructed so that artwork from the subsequent and following pages will be peeking through… like a puzzle!

Book #1: We’ll start with layers of watercolor and then add layers of colored pencil, marker, ink, and more to create unique “blobimals” (“blobs” + “animals”) found only in your imagination.

Book #2: We’ll combine collage and drawing by collaging your “blob” shapes and then finishing your artist book with ink, white gesso, black paint, and a white paint pen (that’s it).

Book #3: We’ll combine collage, drawing, and words to create a story…

Book #4: We’ll create a “mini book.”
